How Can Markle Sparkle Make Things Better?

Dear Reader,

Well, Ms Winfrey earned more to boost her billionaire status, yet without eliciting anything more than the suggestion that the whole world should be in sympathy with Megs. According to the interview, she has been so harshly treated by a totally unfair and biased Royal Family. And the proof?

Reading the Daily Mail today (I only buy it on Saturdays - essentially for their excellent TV guide) it exuded headlines about a 6-page revelation of the truth about this bizarre matter. I hesitated to read it but did so just to see if there was anything worth gleaning. In fact, those pages did nothing more than to state bare facts without becoming sensationalist in the slightest. It was actually quite well done and showed just how much fabrication there has been by Mr and Mrs Markle (er, Harry and Megs).

There were glaring inconsistencies in their stories during the interview anyway, but Ms Winfrey made no attempt to probe those. After all, the whole world is supposed, is it not, to be wrapped up in the issue about racism and Megs, therefore, must have been subjected to racism because she said she had been. Once upon a time, I thought Ms Winfrey was a competent and truth-seeking interviewer, but no more.

So, racism is today's big issue it would seem according to the hoi palloi. It is to be placed above all concerns about pandemics, climate change and all the many other evils that co-exist in this world. Some are inferring this, but I am glad to hear many black people in the UK who are not taken up by Ms Winfrey's crusade via the Merkles. For probably the first time, I am even in some sympathy with Piers Morgan!

However, the simple fact is that injustice does exist in the world and it always has been there. There is nothing new about that and there is little cause to make racism an extra special case. Discrimination and wrong-doing exists in every aspect of daily life at every level, and even Ms Winfrey is surely guilty of that by making such a special case out of this, and for the sake of what? Promoting ill-will towards the Royal Family by the looks of it, and suggesting that the Royal Family needs to conform to what the USA says it should do! Remarkable for a country that's only just ousted Donald Trump after electing him in the first place.

If Harry and Megs are really so concerned about fairness, I would suggest that they concentrate on doing good works akin to those carried out by members of the Royal Family, such as Harry's father and Princess Anne. Neither have the time of day for popularism and just want to get on with what they think is important - and which is important. They act as reasonable exemplars of how duty should be carried out. If some think they are stuffy then let them think that, in my view, but let's not expect change just because a mob decides it should be so.

If the world is to be in sympathy with Harry and Megs then these two should just learn to live their lives privately and demonstrate by their actions what they're about. The truth about themselves is demonstrated by how they live their lives. Indeed, that applies to all of us - sympathy should not be given just because we say we deserve it, and certainly not those who regard themselves as being so important - and are not financially suffering.

Thank you for reading this.
